Members of the Siolas Lab were grateful to join the Blackburn Family Cancer Foundation at UBS Arena, where the Foundation was recognized as the beneficiary of the New York Islanders’ 50/50 raffle. The Blackburn family has been a longstanding supporter of pancreatic cancer research and patient care, and their generosity plays a meaningful role in advancing the lab’s scientific mission.
The event brought together scientists, clinicians, patients, and families united by a shared goal: accelerating progress against pancreatic cancer. Philanthropic partnerships such as this make it possible to pursue innovative approaches and translate discoveries into improved outcomes for patients.
The evening also featured a milestone for the New York Islanders, with defenseman Matthew Schaefer becoming the youngest in NHL history to record a multigoal game, helping lead the team to a 3–2 win in the final minutes.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Blackburn Family Cancer Foundation for their leadership and continued commitment to supporting transformative cancer research.
