The Siolas Laboratory
The Siolas Lab is dedicated to investigating the biology underlying gastrointestinal cancers and advancing novel therapeutics for cancer patients. Dr. Despina Siolas is a physician scientist with a clinical specialty in Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology and a dual research focus in pancreatic cancer and colon cancer. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Siolas conducts research on cancer genes that influence the immune microenvironment using her training in Genetics and Immunology. Dr. Siolas is highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary and enjoys working with both industry and academic partners. Her research laboratory is a multi-level training group consisting of people with different backgrounds and skill sets.

Our Research
Although successful cancer therapy remains elusive for most advanced stage cancer patients, we are making a concerted effort to increase our knowledge of the molecular and genetic properties of cancer.
